Because of how fast a baby grows your layette doesn't have to be large and you will probably get most of the items at your baby shower. We have listed what we think is a basic layette without spending a fortune.

1 pair of baby shoes or booties
6 or 7 Onsies
5 footies
3 cute outfits
Snow suit if winter
4 to 6 pair of socks
2 to 3 Blanket sleepers for cool nights
2 Hats for winter or summer
A sweater set for cool weather
6 to 7 receiving blankets
