When you compare the type of back to school seasons, sweet looks had been taking a back seat to super-trendy styles in children's fashions. You could even find miniture versions of the latest teen fashions worn by popular singers like Britney Spears and the Olsen twins. Streetwear and urban influences that are popular in teen sizes, were appearing in the smaller end of the 4-14 size range. Now the styles are seeming to go back to kids being kids again. Apparel seems to be trying to let children play instead of pretending to be pop stars. Fashions seem to be leaving the sparkles and jewel looks and going more for lace and trim.
